I was born in Escondido California, but moved around a lot because of my father’s work in the explosives industry. In the early 90’s my family moved to Yuba City where I ended up graduating from high school.
My wife, Jerusha and I met each other in high school, but we didn’t start dating until after I had served a 2 year mission for my church in Mexico City, Mexico and both of us had gone to a year or so of college. After Jerusha served a mission in Brazil we were married in 2002 and over the last 11yrs we’ve had an amazing time raising our 3 girls and 1 boy.
When I returned to college after my mission I realized that I wanted to go into healthcare and switched majors from art to biology. I decided on dentistry because I felt it would fulfill my desire to be directly involved in patient care and utilize the hand-eye coordination I had developed over years of drawing.
In 2006 I graduated with B.S. in Biology from BYU-Idaho and spent the next 4 years in Boston attending Tufts Dental School. During dental school I applied for and received the Health Professions Scholarship through the US Army. After graduating I served my 3 year commitment to the military as a Captain in the Army Dental Corps at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX.
Working alongside and being mentored by Dr. Reading for the last five years was exactly what I was hoping to find as I made the transition from military to civilian practice. He was one of the doctors that inspired me to become a dentist and his kind and professional staff and years of experience were just what I was hoping to find.
In 2016 we had the opportunity to welcome my good friend from dental school and the army, Dr. Spencer Wilson, to our practice. Practicing with him for the last 3 years has been a pleasure; he is a man of great integrity and kindness. I also look forward to the next phase in our practice’s growth by welcoming our close friend from the army and dental school, Dr. John Brady. In the short time that he has been with us it is already apparent that his warm personality fits right into the culture of our office.
