Do you cringe at the thought of wearing metal braces for the next few years? Maybe you just do not want it to be that obvious that you have braces or you do not want to give up your favorite foods. Whatever the case may be, at Magnolia Modern Dentistry, we offer Invisalign, an alternative to metal braces. We help many of our patients get the straight teeth they desire with the clear braces option that is available today.
What are Aligners?
Invisalign comes with aligners rather than metal wires and brackets. The aligners look similar to plastic retainers that you have probably seen people wearing. The aligners straighten your teeth according to our plan. You receive the trays to wear for approximately two weeks at a time. You switch out the trays as prescribed and your teeth will start to shift as we described.
You take aligners out when you eat and when you brush your teeth. This allows you to eat your favorite foods without worrying about breaking brackets or wires. It also allows you to lower the risk of tooth decay and gum disease that many people get after wearing metal braces if they did not properly care for their teeth. Aligners help your oral health as well as the alignment of your teeth.
Creating Your Plan
Our dentists are experts at creating the perfect plan for Invisalign. We use an advanced system called ITero to create the images we need to send to the lab. Along with the images, we will send impressions of your mouth and a copy of our written plan to straighten your teeth. The lab then creates custom aligners that are made just for you in the order that we provide them.
A More Convenient Option
Many of our patients love the convenience of Invisalign. In addition to being able to eat what you want and ensuring that you properly brush and floss your teeth, you have to come to the office less often. Without the need to tighten your metal braces, you do not have to spend as much time at our office. This can be a great option for busy people that do not have the time to be bothered with multiple appointments throughout the course of treatment.
We do want you to know, though, that you need to follow the prescribed instructions carefully if you want the intended result. Our dentists put together a careful plan that fixes the issues your teeth have, but without following the instructions carefully, it could be harder to get those results. It takes a bit of dedication to ensure that you will follow through on the directions provided, even when life gets busy.
